Localflavor is a complimentary lifestyle, food, and wine magazine based in northern New Mexico.
I checked and placed ads, prepped files, and sent them to press. I also assisted with press checks and troubleshooting.

Art Director
The New Mexico Free Press was a weekly community newspaper published in Santa Fe from March 2008 until early December 2009. I was the Art Director from the beginning, and helped design and produce the paper from concept to delivery...from day 1 until the day the last issue was sent to press.
I also wrote a bi-weekly column and news stories, and covered events as a writer and photographer.

Good design always starts with a simple question: what does the piece need to be? I approach every project with this in mind, and use my own aesthetic only insofar as it helps me design each piece to effectively reflect my client's intent and reach its determined audience.

Full color cookbook for the Santa Fe Institute. 62 page compilation of recipes from researchers and staff at SFI. Handled all design, production, and some photography. Selected pages at right.
