custom fine silver jewelry
It all started with heartbreak. A failed marriage, a fork in the road. I found solace in creativity. I spread beads of every color, shape, and size all over the dining room table, and passed hours .... days .... stringing necklaces and bracelets. Beads rolled from the table and disappeared into the shadows beneath the dishwasher. Beads nestled into the cracks in the table. My children made off with a few.
But beads weren't enough.
I longed to learn how to make silver jewelry, but lacked the time and the funds to tackle the learning curve. With three small children to raise, it just didn't seem like a reasonable path to follow.
A few years, new marriage, and one last child later, I discovered Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and a new world opened up! PMC resembles pottery clay. It's gray and infinitely pliable. But the difference is that when you fire your bone-dry PMC pieces, you pull .999 fine silver out of the kiln. I spent hours .... days .... learning how to work with the tiny balls of clay, and began fashioning shining pendants that were entirely my own. I stamped my children's names into the backs of a set of patterned pendants, and wore my new necklace every day.
Now, several more years have passed, and I can whip out a pretty pendant in no time. I've honed my style and developed a line of jewelry that is personal, elegant, and versatile. From double pendant sets that can be worn stacked or flipped to hide the top pendant behind the bottom for a new look, my jewelry works with every style and mood! I make every piece by hand, and each is lovingly tended to by me from the moment I open the bag of silver clay to the moment I put your new jewelry in a padded mailer for shipment. To be kind to the environment, I use recycled materials whenever possible in my mailings. Plus, PMC is itself a recycled material!
I am also always on the lookout for new ideas. If you have a cool idea for a new piece of jewelry, or are interested in wholesaling my work or offering yours, please contact me.
So look around my shop, let your imagination soar, and support homegrown and handmade beauty. Thank you!
