According to my son, Graysen, I have a drinking problem. Also a floating hat problem, but hey....who doesn't?
But what does he know anyway? There are all sorts of things he doesn't know about me. He doesn't know that I
hate
how it feels when I scrape a plastic spoon against the bottom of a styrofoam cup. He doesn't know that I love the scent of coconut and gardenia blossoms, though not necessarily together. He doesn't know that I went to Tahiti when I was 21 and had a debilitating foot cramp while I was snorkeling.
He doesn't know that I fear eggplant.
But he knows I love him, and that's what counts, right?
Before everything, I am a mom. In addition to Graysen, who is 7 going on 17, I have Soren, 17, Mirabai, 15, and Chiara, 11. I also have a super fabulous husband, Chris, who is a gifted artist.
I discovered photography in high school, and though I didn't pursue it as a profession until I got my hands on my first digital SLR in 2006, I have always loved shooting things!
I'm also a writer and graphic designer. I live with my family in my hometown of Santa Fe. In addition to the humans in our household, we have five chickens (Titania, Eloise, Primrose, Annabel Lee, and Oliver...and by the way, Oliver is a hen). There are plans for horses and possibly goats. Or maybe angora rabbits. I would like to learn how to make yarn and knit!
And ultimately, I don't have a drinking problem. In fact, I have no problem whatsoever enjoying a good margarita now and then. With extra salt. Also, vodka and pomegranate juice. Icy and super minty mojitos...mmmm.
C'est vrai. C'est moi. :)
